Beauty Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar for Your Hair, Skin and Nails

Did you know that apple cider vinegar could be the best beauty product ever? Apple cider vinegar or ACV, is the new coconut oil!

When it comes to beauty treatment, all it takes to make everything right is a little sprinkle of apple cider vinegar. Give one of the beauty benefits of apple cider vinegar a try.

1. Hair Rinse

Apple cider vinegar promotes shiny and soft hair. It contains clarifying properties that help remove build-up left on your scalp and hair from styling shampoos and products. Also, it helps restore the natural pH level of the scalp.

Directions:
1. Mix 2 cups water and ¼ cup apple cider vinegar.
2. Pour solution onto your hair.
3. Massage the solution into your scalp.
4. Leave on for 5 minutes.
6. Rinse it.

Note:
Use this home treatment at least once a week.

2. Nail Soak

Stained or yellow nails can be embarrassing. This can occur due to working with dyes or chemicals, excessive smoking, a fungal infection, or poor lifestyle habits. Whatever the cause, you can quickly brighten your nails with apple cider vinegar.

The acetic acids and malic acids that is present in apple cider vinegar can help in reducing discoloration of the nails. Also, it is effective in treating nail infections which is the cause discoloration.

Directions:
1. Combine ½ cup apple cider vinegar and lukewarm water.
2. Soak your stained fingernails in this mixutre for 20-30 minutes.
3. Rinse off.
4. Apply and massage a small amount of olive oil into each nail bed.

Note:
Use this treatment at least twice daily, until your nails are no longer discolored.

3. Skin Toner

Apple cider vinegar is good for those individuals who have oily skin. Thanks to apple cider vinegar’s astringent properties.

Also, it is a rich source of alpha hydroxy acids, which minimize pores and increase blood flow to the skin. Also, apple cider vinegar helps in regulating the pH level of your skin.

Directions:
1. Mix ½ cup apple cider vinegar and filtered or distilled water.
2. Add a few drops of an essential oil, such as lavender oil.
3. Apply this mixture on your skin using a cotton ball.
4. Leave on for a couple of minutes.
5. Rinse off with cool water.
6. Use this mixture, once or twice a day.
7. Shake well before each use.

Notes:
For normal skin, add 1 part apple cider vinegar and 2 parts water to make your skin toner. For extremely sensitive skin, try adding more water to the mixture, 1 part apple cider vinegar and 4 parts water. Also, use the toner less frequently, if you have sensitive skin. Do a patch test before using it.

Lastly, when you apply this skin toner, the unappealing smell of apple cider vinegar may linger for a while, but this tends to subside as the solution dries.
